It only needs a one time activation on the internet, however you will need to launch uPlay in order to play FarCry 3. It could take around 5-10 seconds to launch a game (judging from other games i own through uPlay such as Driver San Francisco and H.A.W.X 2) though most of it is just synchronizing saves. I'm quite sure you can disable it.
So I just want to know if the multiplayer here on Far Cry 3 is fun and secure since both this and Splinter Cell are from Ubisoft. Far Cry 3 was fun on my Xbox 360 but, I just want to make sure my money doesn't go to waste when I buy this for my PC.

I’m going to come out and say this first before I get ran over an angered mass of comments: Far Cry 3 is, by far, one of the best single player games that I have played this generation.
