I recently purchased a New Ford 2.0L Duratec engine at a great price that I thought would be the basis of a nicely tuned replacement for my 195bhp Rover K series. After adding up the cost of all the parts necessary to make the change over from the RoverK to the Duratec, my bargain has certainly turned into 1983 - 2012 Ranger & B-Series - The 2.5 duratecis out!!!! - I was at the ford dealer yesterday, they allready had some 09 escapes. At a closer look I noticed they have a new 4 cylinder, the 2.5 duratec. It has 171 hp and 171 foot pounds. Of course I had to test drive it.

Posted August 29, 2002. Alex. The Duratec is a great engine. My car has 600+ miles on it. It is using a Pace dry sump system with my design sump tank, which various people are now using for the K series. Power output is around 190 using a Scholar Engines map.Engine will be out during the winter for the upgrade.
