The game has almost no character progression: leveling, elite specializations, and gear. With each expansion, all we must do is the hero challenges for the elite specs. (The gear might still be good and with stat transformation for ascended gear, it's barely a barrier).

Every time they come out with an expansion, you have to level all over again, and usually regear as well. Every time Guild Wars 2 comes out with an expansion, I have to either get hero points or more often use the hero points I already have from playing in between expansions. The day EOD launched, I had 15 characters with EoD elite specs
1: It appears that the best thing to do with Testimonies of Jade Heroics is to use them to level Elite specs. Is that still true? 2: Assuming so, I am trying to decide which specs to train. I have a max level character of every class except Revenant, who is level ~25 (I have multiple level 80 boosts).
MikeG, please share the easier/faster methods to get to level 80. Seriously, I am all ears as I am just learning the game. After review, crafting for about $5 gets the character to max in a reported roughly 2 hours.
This game is 11 years old and if elite specs are the only meaningful instance of vertical progression that has made its way in, that is damn impressive. To get the previous elite specs, you can join an HP train in a previous expansion or play WvW for Proofs of Heroics that will complete hero challenges.

Also note, using a level 80 boost lets you play around with the class at level 80 in the Silverwastes (A normal level 80 zone featured in Living World Season 2) before you commit and consume the item. So you can play around with having all skills and specs (Minus Elites) on the classes before you make your decision. As far as leveling up goes

19. kalamari__. no. xp is an universal accountwide "currency" in the game, but map completion and the use of Hero Points to get different traits on different classes isn't. 6. But you only get those at level 80 (in PvE at least) which would make them completely useless. 3. You also get them in PvP. 6. hipG9f.
