In real life cars with automatic transmission it is possible to limit the gearbox from going into the higher gears. Normally the driver puts the gear into D and off he goes. But e.g. when going uphill it might be better to stay in low gear. I think there is a position "2" and sometimes even a "1" for that. Is such a feature modelled in the game automatic transmission? Does IRL automatic

At least you keep some controls over the speed engaged. " Welcome to automatic, the gearbox where the inclines are made up and the torque doesn't matter ". #2. Spc Johnson Dec 19, 2014 @ 10:54am. Manual any day, it just isnt truck driving if you dont row your own gears. #3. margalus Dec 19, 2014 @ 11:00am. no, sequential is not hard at all.
When i'm in the 9nd gear (for instance) and i want to shift a gear down (i pull he joystick back), the automatic transmission goes to N. When i put my joystick forward, it goes back to the 9nd gear. If i stop, and pull the joystick back, the automatic transmission goes first to N, and then to Reverse.
-> For Linux you may find it here: "~/.local/share/Euro Truck Simulator 2/profiles//controls_linux.sii" (untested) 2.) Backup your controls file in case you break it (did not manage to, but found the backup helpful to keep my sanity) 3.) Setup the game-> Controls - Setup the Clutch axis - Transmission = H-Shifter-> H-Shiftersetup The gearbox configuration files for individual predefined layouts can be found in your profile directory (remember to replace the PROFILE_ID with your real profile identifier): My Documents\Euro Truck Simulator 2\profile\PROFILE_ID\gearbox*.sii. The files contain a list of entries that map the condition triplet (h shifter position, selector 1 There are automatic transmissions for trucks (the Allison transmission) but usually an 'automatic' in a truck like these is actually a manual that is shifted by computer instead of by hand. Also going down a steep hill using service brakes to check the engine speed can result in the brakes heating up and eventually failing all together. Low and behold, someone at SCS decided to break Real Automatic. It is as simple as that folks. But in the game I have to HOLD the gearstick foward just to drive forward now, same goes to reverse. I press the gearstick once and it briefly goes into Drive and then straight back into Neutral.
Hi guys, i have a question that I was hoping you guys could help me answer. I usually play ets 2 in sequential automatic mode on a keyboard. I've recently noticed that i can get 3 transmissions for my trucks, the basic one, one with what seems to be a lower gear ratio and a 6 speed one with a 2.42x torque figure but much lower ratio.
